대학교 졸업식 행사가 있을 때, 정문과 후문에서는 축하용 꽃을 판매한다. 이 테이프는 꽃 가판대를 설치하기 위한 영역을 점포별로 식별하고 선점하기 위한 표시이다.
2020년, 내가 1학년이었을 때는 정문에 ‘희망 꽃집’만 존재하였는데, 어느 순간부터 이들은 자세한 날짜도 표기하며, 꽃 자리 선정이 치열해짐을 알게 되었다.
우리는 우리가 몰랐던 새로운 생태계에 침투하고, 학교의 졸업과 관련하여 일어나는 일을 흉내 내보고자 한다. 후문 근처 꽃집의 영역표시 옆자리에서 우리의 새로운 꽃집 자리(안녕 꽃집, 용기 꽃집)를 표시하고 그 위에서 하루 간 장사할 것이다. 이 과정에서 우리는 꽃에 파묻힐 만큼 많은 양의 꽃을 다루고, 판매 활동을 실천해 보고, 이미 자리 잡은 판매자들 사이에 끼어드는 등의 일을 겪을 것이다.
이는 졸업 이후의 일을 생각하는 것, 경제가치로서의 생산활동을 수행해야 하는 것, 미술과 멀어질 것을 상상하는 것, 그럼에도 불구하고 미술로 다시 끌어오고 싶은 것을 보여주는 일이 될 것이다.

Back in 2020, when I was a freshman, only one flower stand—called Hope Flower Shop—occupied the main gate. But over time, more vendors appeared, and the markings began to include detailed dates, revealing just how competitive the flower-selling spots had become.
We decided to infiltrate this unfamiliar ecosystem—one we had never noticed before—and imitate the rituals surrounding graduation. Next to the territorial markings of established vendors near the back gate, we marked out our own new flower stands: Hello Flower Shop and Courage Flower Shop. For one day, we ran our own flower-selling operation in that space.
In doing so, we handled an overwhelming number of flowers, experienced what it means to sell, and inserted ourselves into a system already occupied by long-standing vendors.
This act became a way to reflect on what comes after graduation—the pressure to engage in productive, economically valuable labor, the fear of drifting away from art, and yet, a desire to pull everything back into the realm of art. It was about reimagining what it means to create, survive, and celebrate through the act of selling flowers.
